Bailey-Harris is seeking a highly skilled and tech-savvy Senior Field Engineer / Construction Surveyor to join our field operations team. This role involves performing precise layout, surveying, and data collection using robotic total stations, GNSS systems, and other advanced surveying technologies. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional field engineering and modern, automated construction practices.

)ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•:Operate and maintain robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS systems, and laser scanning equipment on construction sites
•.Perform construction layout and site staking based on plans and digital models (CAD/BIM)
•.Interpret engineering and architectural drawings to translate design into real-world measurements
•.Collaborate with project managers, designers, and field crews to ensure alignment between digital models and physical layout
•.Manage and process survey data using software such as Trimble FieldLink, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Revit
•.Troubleshoot field data issues and ensure accuracy of layout operations
•.Ensure all work complies with safety standards, quality assurance protocols, and industry regulations
.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
•:5+ years of field experience in surveying or field engineering, preferably in a construction environment
•.Proficiency with robotic total stations (Trimble, Leica, Topcon, etc.) and GNSS/GPS equipment
•.Familiarity with CAD, BIM, and survey data processing software
•.Strong understanding of construction processes, grading, utilities, and site layout
•.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•.Ability and willingness to collaborate with the entire Project Tea
•mMust be able to work at elevated heights, frequently lift materials weighing up to 70 lbs. and work in outside all-weather condition
•sAbility to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, shop drawings, procedure manuals, and safety rule
•sExperience with data collectors, electronic or robotic total stations, builder’s levels, laser levels, tripod, prisms, computer
•sAbility to communicate well both verbally and in writin
•gHigher math skills (algebra and trigonometry
•)Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
•:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, Construction Technology, or a related field
•.FAA Part 107 drone certification and experience with UAV-based surveying
•.Experience integrating robotic layout with 3D models from Revit or Navisworks
•.Ability to train others on surveying equipment and digital workflows
.WORK ENVIRONMENT
•:Majority of work will be conducted on active construction sites, requiring the use of PPE
•.Exposure to variable weather conditions
