We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Environmental Professional to join our team and contribute to the successful development and implementation of our projects. Job Summary: The Senior Environmental Professional will be responsible for evaluating Transmission & Distribution construction project routing designs, creating and managing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), conducting constructability reviews, and handling 404 permitting or environmental impace studies (EIS) for electrical transmission, distribution & substation construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Routing Design Development: Lead the development of Right-of-Way (ROW) routing designs for electrical transmission/distribution projects, ensuring minimal environmental impact and regulatory compliance.
- SWPPP Management: Create, implement, and manage Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans to mitigate construction-related water pollution risks. Development of field data acquisition tasks as required to confirm environmental conditions along construction ROW routes.
- Constructability Reviews: Conduct thorough constructability reviews to identify potential environmental and logistical issues, and propose practical solutions.
- 404 Permitting and Environmental Impact Study (EIS) development: Manage the 404 permitting process, and EIS development including preparation of necessary documentation, coordination with regulatory agencies, and ensuring adherence to all federal and state regulations.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with environmental laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with utility owners, project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of environmental assessments, permits, compliance reports, and other related documentation.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess environmental risks associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to project teams on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in environmental management, with a focus on routing designs, SWPPP, constructability reviews, and 404 permitting for electrical transmission or similar construction projects.
- Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PE, PMP, CPESC) are highly desirable.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and best practices in environmental management.
- Skills: Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Software: Proficiency in environmental management software and tools. GIS experience is a plus.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Work Location & Travel: Our targeted clients cover the entire US and the work to be performed will be project-oriented based on where the particular construction work is expected to be completed. This position is expected to be primarily remote with travel required based on the specifics of the projects and clients location.
