Position Summary:
A Senior Division Order Analyst has exhibited mastery of the skills and responsibilities of both the Division Order and Contracts Departments, combined with an abundance of industry experience. They are able to complete their requisite tasks with little to no direct supervision and may be permitted to present their work product directly to management. In addition, this role is proficient in training new or incoming employees in all aspects of the Division Order or Contracts Departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Calculate working, billing, royalty, and net revenue interest along with associated burdens in wells based on record title, curative documentation, contracts, and individual lease terms
•Create and maintain Revenue deck division of interest in Enertia land software
•Oversee and Prepare Division of Interest changes and distribute Division Orders and Transfer Orders for changes in ownership on operated properties
•Maintain current ownership through transfers, corrections, and suspense changes; maintain fluid internal communication with Land, Lease, and Title departments for consistently accurate records across all functions
•Research deductions corrections and update deck interests accordingly
•In-depth contract analysis and drafting of Executive Summaries for higher priority and more complex agreements
•Second level review of all work done by lower level employees and/or contractors before submission to management or other company departments
•Communication with every department within the company to assure their understanding of agreements for each particular purpose
•Serve as the POC for other departments for contract inquiries
•Communicate with other departments within the company to assure and insure their understanding of agreements affecting their work
•Review legacy and inherited agreements with an ability to integrate those findings into the company’s asset profile
•Assist in the implementation of all phases of Division Order and Contracts department functions and perform any additional support duties that may be assigned
•Other duties as necessary
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements):
•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Legal background beneficial
•5+ years’ previous oil and gas division order or contract experience
•Experience with MS Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
•Previous Enertia or other land and lease software experience required
•Knowledge of Federal, State and regional laws as they pertain to the conveyance of minerals and oil and gas rights, contracts, leases, pooling, unitization and deducts in the Appalachian basin
•Must be a self-starter who is able to process, interpret, and organize vast amounts of detailed information in an efficient manner
•Able to work independently with minimal supervision; possess excellent organizational skills; be eager for collaboration; and possess a stringent eye for accuracy and efficiency
•Ability to perform independent research using outside resources to fill in any holes in the review of agreements; including DEP websites, internal and public mapping/GIS sources, etc.
•Experience managing contract terms with third parties
•Proficiency in GIS; ability navigate lease layers, spot discrepancies and propose solutions
•Ability to check and verify the work of others within the department and take on the responsibility of presenting department work product to management
•Must be well organized with excellent analytical and communication skills
•Excellent project management skills
•Ability to interact and collaborate with all internal departments
•Excellent organization, teamwork, and attention to detail
Physical Requirements of the Position:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk, ability to bend over and reach above head, ability to lift under 15 pounds, ability to view computer screen for extended periods of time, and ability to type on a keyboard.
