As a member of the physical aluminum team, the Senior Contract Administrator has a dual mandate of working with the Traders to add commercial value through coordination across various aspects of customer relations and business planning within the scope of logistics and physical contract execution. The Senior Contract Administrator is also responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the department’s physical aluminum business, ensuring all communications, documentation, and contractual business obligations of the department are performed on a timely basis to uphold, promote, and strengthen our reputation as a valued partner to the industry. The Senior Contract Administrator works in a manner which protects the interests of all stakeholders of the group through compliance with corporate policies and procedures designed to mitigate risks inherent in physical commodities trading.

- Proactively coordinating internally across departments (legal, credit, risk, treasury, etc.), other Gerald global offices as needed; and externally with trade counterparts, warehouses, ports and stevedores and other third-party service providers to negotiate and procure logistics services necessary (trucking, rail, barge) to facilitate needs of physical trading business.

- Ensure timely exchange of information and various contractual documentation such that all interested parties remain informed on a timely basis and in compliance with terms of contract and company policies.

- Responsible for oversight and training/development of junior logistics/traffic coordinators to ensure and execution of contractual obligations arising from physical aluminum purchase and sale commitments.

- Contribute to business unit level efficiencies and increased margin through effective process management, data analysis, etc. geared to drive growth and protect/increase margins, including analysis of freight, storage, and other costs; planning allocations to maximize netback value and minimize commercial risks; provides assessment of logistics cost accrual vs actual spend.

- Work with Traders and other regional front office teams globally to remain continually informed on commercial strategy objectives, as to be in a position to add value externally, through sourcing and utilization of relevant market intel and new business opportunities gained in daily interactions with industry contacts, and internally, through proactive forward planning and actioning of physical metal allocations and various other ad-hoc data analysis aligned with achieving commercial objectives.

- Work across departments to validate and support integrity of data reflected in trading system represents accurately and meets various inter department reporting needs including tracking the physical movement of commodities to ensure all inventory/collateral reporting requirements of our treasury/financing banks are met as well as timely reflected in accounting ledgers (cutoff).

- Provide analysis and manage various special projects as needed to support and maximize opportunities in a dynamic global trading environment.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree.

- 5 years of proven commodities industry experience in related position.

- Proven experience in performing technical due diligence, with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

- Knowledge of Incoterms 2020, documentary collection, letter of credit (UCP 600)

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software applications, with advanced Excel and Word capabilities.

- Good organizational, planning, and follow up skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a team to meet strict deadlines in a high paced environment.

- Courteous and flexible customer service attitude.

- Good analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

- Well spoken, assertive team player capable of effectively communicating in a dynamic global environment.

- Entrepreneurial drive and willingness to work non-traditional business hours as required.

- Ability to work in-office 5 days a week and flexible to work additional hours as required.
