The Senior Claims Analyst (First Party) Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and resolves first party claims leading to a final disposition of these matters within limit of authority.
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
- Evaluates liability and communicates company position to the party responsible for causing damage to company property, or their insurance carrier.
- Coordinates assigned litigation and assists outside counsel with respect to property damage claims.
- Resolves property damage claims within limits of experience and ability and has accountability within a designated authority.
- Represents the Company in Small Claims Court litigation involving facilities damage claims.
- Maintains working knowledge of applicable statutes, case law, and regulations.
- Oversees performance of the collection agents to ensure that collection activities are handled promptly and properly.
- Provides guidance and training to Claims Analysts.
- Conducts annual refresher training for district personnel about property damage claim recovery process.
- Preferred Knowledge:
- Negligence law, distribution electric/gas operations, insurance principles, and/or regulatory codes as they apply to first party claims activities.
- Ability to apply portions of Eversource system policies, procedures, work practices, and union contracts, as they affect first party claims activities.
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
- Good problem-solving skills; ability to use and apply sound judgement
- Interaction skills including the ability to work effectively with others in atmospheres that are sometimes stressful and adversarial

- Five (5) plus years of claims handling experience including working knowledge of distribution operations of the gas and electric systems
- CT Casualty Adjuster’s license; valid motor vehicle license
