Senior Civil Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer/Manager
to lead the specifications, design, and construction of civil infrastructure supporting renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, and transmission facilities. This role also includes oversight of associated structures such as operations buildings. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical civil engineering expertise and project management capabilities. Success in this position will require a solutions-oriented mindset, efficiency, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Oversee and manage third-party vendors and Owner’s Engineering (OE) services.
•
Lead project-related tasks such as technical negotiations, contract and tender support, RFIs, due diligence, site inspections, and engineering assessments.
•
Supervise development-phase civil works and contribute to the drafting of technical specifications.
•
Manage RFIs and submittals using Procore.
•
Define scopes for consultancy and engineering tasks and provide supervision as needed.
•
Coordinate with consultants and contractors to ensure successful delivery of infrastructure and facilities.
•
Provide technical input for new and existing contract negotiations and amendments.
•
Serve as primary contact for external agencies (e.g., DOT, local authorities) on road improvement and access matters during construction.
•
Offer logistics support related to site transport and road access planning.
•
Oversee project layout development and assess contractor proposals and implementation.
•
Lead design activities related to geotechnical, civil, and foundation aspects of the projects.
•
Conduct site visits and inspections as necessary.
•
Review shop drawings, QA/QC plans, and test results during construction.
•
Capture and apply lessons learned from past projects to current efforts.
•
Support general engineering and project management functions.
•
Lead the planning, design, and construction of project infrastructure, resolving engineering challenges as they arise.
•
Perform other relevant duties as required.
Qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university; EIT or PE license preferred.
•
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy industry.
•
Proficiency with Procore required.
•
Familiarity with OSHA standards and construction site safety.
•
Understanding of permitting processes (e.g., SWPPP, USACE).
•
Experience with construction planning, cost estimation, and risk management.
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to stakeholders.
•
Skilled in negotiation and stakeholder management.
•
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
•
Intermediate proficiency in GIS and CAD software.
•
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
•
Ability to manage high workloads and meet deadlines under pressure.
•
Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach.
•
Willingness to travel up to 50% as project needs require.
