About Our Location
Marlborough, MA is a beautiful small city in central Massachusetts, surrounded by quaint Massachusetts towns and within a day-trip distance of the Berkshires, White Mountains, and Cape Cod. For those who prefer a more urban lifestyle, we are located directly off I-495 within easy commuting distance of Boston and Cambridge (30-40 minutes), Worcester (25 minutes), Nashua, NH (45 minutes) and Providence, RI (50 minutes).
About You
We are seeking a talented electrochemical stack engineer with a proven track record who is looking to design and develop electrochemical stacks to support an industry-leading storage technology. We are looking for teammates who are collaborative and creative and that are excited about designing and developing the next generation electrochemical stack. Responsibilities•Design, develop and optimize the physical and functional aspects of electrochemical stacks, ensuring performance, durability and cost-effectiveness
•Develop and specify stack components such as electrodes, membranes, current collectors, end plates, etc.
•Define tests required to verify stack performance requirements.
•Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate the stack into larger systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
•Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, research, and business development, to advance stack technology and bring products to market.
•Continuously seeking opportunities to improve stack performance, reduce costs, and enhance overall system efficiency.
•Identify, and solve stack related design, build and supplier related issues.
•Create stack development plans and schedules to meet company objectives.
•Lead stack development projects.
•Own and meet milestones using Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
•Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications
Required
•B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
•Strong mechanical design background.
•Hands-on experience with electrochemical cells and stacks: This includes developing and testing fuel cells, electrolyzers, or flow batteries.
•Strong understanding of electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and kinetics: This is crucial for optimizing stack performance and durability.
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: This is needed to identify and address performance issues and improve stack design.
•Strong communication and teamwork skills: This is essential for collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to create a stack product development plan including test and material development to meet system design deadlines.
•Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work independently.
•Ability to lead a stack development project.
•The ability to set priorities while juggling multiple tasks.
•Strong written and oral communication skills required.
•Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred
•M.S or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
•5-10+ years of experience
•Experience in conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
•Experience working with stack material suppliers and defining quality requirements
