Senior Accountant I - Wholesale Accounting - Complex Contracts

- Executes complex financial tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.

- Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.

- Reviews and reconciles financial information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.

- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.

- Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.

- Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.

Team Specific Accountabilities

:

- Assists with the monthly invoicing and reconciliation of transactions governed by complex intercompany and external agreements.

- Maintains detailed settlement records and supports financial reporting requirements including internal and external audits.

- Applies knowledge of ISO/RTO market rules and settlement methodologies to validate transaction data and ensure proper accounting treatment.

- Supports the analysis and resolution of settlement disputes, working with trading, commercial, and accounting teams to maintain accuracy and transparency.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

Education

:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience

:

- 3+ years in Accounting or other Finance field

- Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required

Skills

:

- Advanced Excel skills and solid functional knowledge of Word and Power Point applications.

- Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills

- Process improvement oriented

- Fundamental understanding of Vistra’s Accounting Governance Framework
