PURPOSE AND ROLE: The Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for development and management of the weekly and daily Maintenance Schedules which include backlog and preventative maintenance activities for a Refinery and Terminal locations.
- Manages the maintenance work process flow in Emaint scheduling tool daily to develop, maintain and update all maintenance scheduling.
- Prepares detailed work scopes, resource estimates and schedules ensuring maintenance is planned safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Coordinates with multiple Refinery functions (operations, inspection, technical, projects, reliability, etc.) to define and vet detailed work scope, resource estimates, manpower requirements to build equipment maintenance plans and equipment reliability.
- Coordinates heavily with Operations to facilitate all maintenance deliverables.
- Create recurring Work Orders for predictive and preventive maintenance.
- Maintains maintenance historical data such as hours worked, materials used, failure codes, equipment repair history, etc.
- Work with the Procurement Department to coordinate rental equipment and parts for refinery work plans.
- Drive to Elmendorf and Falls City Terminal off-site locations as needed.
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the Refinery / Terminals and Office areas to plan and schedule work.
- Leads all relevant meetings including the Daily & Weekly Scheduling and Backlog reviews.
- Communicates with Planners and Maintenance staff for opportunities to optimize work schedules.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by maintenance leadership.
- Direct back-up to the Maintenance Planner as required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree with 5 plus years industry or prior experience with Planning and Scheduling in process, petrochemical, or refining industries
- Must have a level of proficiency in Maintenance Scheduling (Work orders, Purchasing and ordering material and work scope labor activities).
- Professional demeanor; able to effectively build relationships with all levels of staff, internal and external customers.
- Strong time management skills with attention to detail.
- Must be organized; able to multi-task, and to prioritize assignments.
- Strong communication in both written and verbal.
- Must have a valid State issued driver’s license and be able to travel, work evenings and weekends as required.
- Legally authorized to work in US, in compliance with the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act

- Regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Operates in a professional office environment and within an industrial Refinery, Terminal environment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE to perform job functions as required.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions as needed.
- Field experience in plant general maintenance, piping, fixed equipment, insulation, etc.
- Knowledge of general maintenance workflow procedures and understanding of labor activities for time estimating and materials requirements to create efficient work plans.
- Experience with reliability practices, mechanical integrity and predictive/ preventative maintenance in a chemical plant or refinery.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Outlook, Internet, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle stress and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
