The Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for a large Canadian electrical utility. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure project timelines are met and resources are efficiently allocated. The Scheduler will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects related to the construction, maintenance, and upgrade of electrical infrastructure.
· Schedule Development: Assist in creating and maintaining detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
· Coordination: Work with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project timelines.
· Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, identify potential delays, and provide regular updates to senior management. Prepare and present reports on project status.
· Resource Allocation: Support the optimal allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project deadlines.
· Risk Management: Identify scheduling risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
· Compliance: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including the Canadian Electrical Code and other relevant guidelines.
· Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices in scheduling and project management to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within the electrical utility industry.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), and familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions.
· Travel: Some travel may be required to various project sites within Canada.
· Hours: Full-time, with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
