POSITION DESCRIPTION

Basic Purpose Of Position
Utilize knowledge of automation and process control systems to program, install, perform start-up/commissioning, maintain, troubleshoot, document and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation, electronic monitoring, metering, and PLC devices used in the development and exploration of oil and gas assets.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Calibration
- Ability to obtain and interpret all documents needed in order to properly and safely calibrate the devices according to allowable tolerances.
- Data sheets, Calibration sheets, P&ID drawings, Loop sheets, Site procedures, Mechanical and electrical drawings
- Inspect the loop components from the device to PLC to ensure that the components are correctly installed.
- Simulate changes in order to verify proper loop performance and make the necessary corrections in order to bring loop performance within specifications from the device to HMI.
- Examine documentation in order to identify the proper operation of the control system and devices and to provide a baseline against which to evaluate the problem.
- Able to evaluate process control systems and related PLC programming on production and safety equipment, and perform corrective action, if necessary, according to site procedures in order to resolve problems.
- Experience in communication infrastructure development and troubleshooting, including Modbus, data highway, Ethernet and fiber optics.
- Examine all pertinent documentation in order to verify completion of all control systems that are required for start-up.
- Coordinate activities with all personnel involved in order to ensure that all personnel are aware of their responsibilities during start-up, and according to site procedures in order to ensure that the system is operating properly.
- Assist site personnel to identify and correct problems that arise during start-up in order to commission the system.
- Ensure asset teams are getting the information needed to improve operations using technology to enable fact-based decisions to be made.
- Comply with and promote compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Assess the condition of the system through documentation, inspection and testing in order to maintain performance and determine the need for any repairs.
- Data systems maintenance and support to ensure there is a reliable and stable architecture that consistently delivers data to the asset teams.
- Participate in control project planning in order to coordinate all resources for the project.
- Supervise and assist all necessary personnel to ensure compliance with company procedures in order to direct the maintenance of the process control systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow all appropriate security and cybersecurity procedures and regulations.
- Manage revisions to the Instrumentation & Control Standards documentation.
- Review all calibration sheets, completed loop checks, and maintenance records in order to ensure accuracy and completeness of the documents for compliance.
- Verify as-built drawings in order to provide accurate and current drawings and submit changes as necessary.
Requirements
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: PLC ProgrammingExperience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FlexLogix programming
Instrumentation Knowledge And Experience
- Ability to read and understand schematics, P&ID’s, Pneumatic, Electrical and Mechanical equipment engineering drawings.
- Multi-process knowledge and solid control systems expertise with Wonderware, Allen-Bradley PLCs, XSPOC, etc.
- Ability to find value through consistency by following established processes, and a understanding of how those processes impact the entire business.
- Able to document processes, MOC, SOP’s, red line drawings with an attention for detail.
- Can link specific activities to financial results, and willing to communicate improvement opportunities to all levels of the organization
- Promote teamwork and cooperation within in all departments and teams to implement ideas that produce value to the company.
- Experience with or knowledge of Wonderware ArchestrA graphics, System Platform, InTouch and OMI.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements
The position requires working outside in all weather conditions. The position requires manual dexterity to handle documents and operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, shredders and computers. Also required is performing repetitive motions, and extended periods of sitting, standing and walking for varying lengths of time. The position requires interacting and communicating professionally with others via speaking, hearing and writing, learning new tasks, processes and concepts, thinking to solve problems, concentrating on required tasks, distinguishing color and depth perception and reading data, figures, electronic and hard copy documents.
The position requires frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, crouching, pushing, reaching, pulling, lifting, grasping, fingering, reaching over the shoulders and below the waist, carrying of up to 75 lbs. while walking, lifting up to 95 lbs. to waist level and lifting up to 65 lbs. over shoulder level, the continuous use of both hands, arms, and feet and the manual dexterity to operate heavy and light tools, equipment, and materials.
The position requires walking or traversing over and across uneven terrain, accessing of areas outdoors and on or around equipment, over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes, low rails and walls, stooping or bending to reach certain locations, climbing stairs or ladders, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
The position requires wearing personal protection equipment such as gloves, gas mask, suits, etc. with an average weight of 10-25 pounds

Salary Description
$37-$68/hour
