About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Business Applications and SAP, we have an opportunity for an SAP FI/CO Finance Technical Specialist to join our Corporate Centerra team responsible for the sustainment, configuration, updating, end user support and issue resolution of the SAP S/4 Hana accounting and controlling modules. This position is a hybrid role based at our Toronto, ON office, however we are also open to considering candidates located throughout Canada.
This role will also be accountable for, but is not limited to, financial operations, cost management, and profitability analysis capabilities/modules at Centerra Gold. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, goals and adherence to quality standards and application management best practices established by the Global Head of Technology.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Support the S4 Hana SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules in SAP FIORI including related modules such as IM (Investment Management), MM, SD, PM and PS.
•Resolve end user issues/ tickets from cradle to grave with attention to timely customer support and documentation.
•Configure the S4 Hana system to meet business and system requirements.
•Ability to work collaboratively with other support teams and external support vendors.
•Apply S4 Hana best practice solutions and recommend improvements to current state.
•Manage and support external financial systems that integrate into SAP, such as Oracle Cloud Applications including FCCS and EPBCS.
•Support or lead other business applications as required.
•Partner with the other SAP functional team members, sites, and corporate business leads to assess and document requirements and establish priorities.
•Ensure that all business requests are logged in the HALO ticketing system accompanied by business requirements.
•Recommend operational improvements or devise new approaches to technical or process issues to meet business objectives.
•Lead the design of SAP Finance FRICEW (forms, reports, interfaces, configuration, enhancements, and workflows) items and conversion programs.
•Develop alternative technical solutions, and provide advice on options, risks, costs and benefits, and impact on other business processes.
•Work with third party system integrator partners/ AMS provider in the implementation of new FRICEW items, resolution of incidents (‘break/fix’), analyze proposed improvements or changes, using Centerra’s ticketing system.
•Ensure all SAP Finance modules tickets follow the IT change management processes.
•Evaluate SAP notes, new functionality, and upcoming releases for financial modules.
•Develop and maintain systems documentation, including business standard operating procedures, functional design specifications, process flows, and test cases.
•Define SAP Finance-related modules user authorization requirements taking into account segregation of duties (SoD).
•Prepare and conduct demos or training sessions as needed and develop training material as required.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
•University degree in computer science, business administration or equivalent.
•10+ years SAP FI/CO configuration and support experience, with 7+ years functional/configuration in SAP S/4 Hana FI, CO, using FIORI front end and the integration with PM, MM, PS, and SD.
•Advanced level S4 Hana FI/CO configuration experience including integration with related modules.
•3+ years experience working with SAP S4 Hana version 2021, with RISE on Private Cloud Edition (PCE) is an asset.
•High proficiency in the SAP CO module, including sub-modules like Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, Profit Center Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.
•Deep understanding of the SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules, this includes configuring and managing financial transactions in SAP to support the company's business processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.
•SAP FI/CO S4 Hana certification is desired.
•Experience with life cycle implementation of S4 Hana and FIORI Apps.
•Experience designing and maintaining SAP job roles and security access including SoD analysis.
•Experience working with external financial systems (Banks, Bloomberg, etc.).
•7+ years’ experience dealing with end users and user support.
•Good working knowledge of integration with SAP and Non-SAP financial planning and consolidation modules would be preferred.
•Previous experience in mining, supporting Finance personnel with day-to-day ERP system processes would be an asset.
•Expertise in analyzing business processes and requirements, creating system specifications, developing test scripts, and implementing business solutions utilizing SAP technologies.
•Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong communication skills and a team player.
•Solution-oriented and customer-service-oriented mindset.
•Good working knowledge of Microsoft tools (SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.) and SAP Enable Now.
