Job description
The sandblaster / Coater is responsible for surface preparation of materials following abrasive blasting standards. They will remove all paint, rust and other surface contaminants from rough surfaces using specialized equipment that spray abrasive materials. You will be responsible to apply coating on the prepped materials as per client specifications.
Sandblaster:
•Knowledge to execute specific surface prep requirements as well as troubleshoot and maintain blasting equipment.
•Sandblasting experience required and Bristle Blasting experience an asset.
•Perform tasks with a special focus on safety of themselves and others in their work area.
•Always maintain a clean and tidy work area
•Ability to follow complex instruction and attention to detail are required.
Responsibilities
•Surface preparation using a variety of techniques: abrasive blasting, hand tools, etc.
•Maintaining equipment required for the job
•Previous experience in the use and maintenance of paint spray systems (conventional, airless, and plural)
•Safely and properly storing and disposing of chemical waste
•Working with team to ensure high quality of work and that project deliverables are met
•Maintenance of all blasting and coating equipment
•Ensuring adherence to manufacturer's guidelines, compliance to all PPE, and standards
•Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Minimum Requirements
•Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
•Willing to learn and take direction.
•Safety & Team Orientated
•Ability to travel for work.
•Highly organized, able to prioritize project requirements / schedules provided by others.
Qualifications
•2+ years sandblasting or coating in an industrial setting preferred.
•Punctual, Engaged & Fit for Duty
•Good communication skills
•Drivers License an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$34.00 per hour
