Sample Management Technician (Part-Time)

At SPL, we turn science into impact. We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our laboratory team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.

What You’ll Do

- Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, and staff;

- Verify sample conditions and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements;

- Accurately log sample details and requested analyses into LIMS;

- Label, organize, and distribute samples to laboratory teams;

- Maintain orderly and secure sample storage, retrieval, and disposal;

- Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments;

- Assist with inventory, supply preparation, and other support functions;

- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment;

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required;

- Familiarity with basic chemistry preferred;

- Basic computer skills, including database and spreadsheet entry;

- Strong recordkeeping skills with attention to detail;

Your Schedule and The Fine Print

- Part-time position, working 3 days per week at 8 hours per day (24 hours total per week); Specific days of work will be determined in coordination with management;

- Regular and punctual attendance required.
