As the holding entity for a network of agricultural operations across the Southwest, we specialize in land restoration, regenerative crop production, and community-integrated farming.
We are at a pivotal stage of expansion, spearheading the development of a flagship, sustainability-driven farming and agro-tourism destination on over 1,500 acres of prime land in Northern Arizona. At the same time, we are scaling our agricultural product distribution network across multiple states and preparing to enter new markets with a line of premium, locally grown goods.
To support this vision, we are seeking an ambitious, visionary Agricultural Sales Director to drive regional and national sales strategy, build a high-performing sales team, and position our agricultural offerings as market leaders across both wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.
Position Summary: “Builder of Markets + Voice of the Land”
As our Agricultural Sales Director, you will take a key leadership role in growing our sales operations, cultivating long-term client partnerships, and elevating the identity of Gypsum Resources’ agricultural brands. You will be the driving force behind sales strategy, product placement, and market expansion. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sales Planning
•Develop and execute a scalable, regional and national sales strategy that supports Gypsum Resources’ growth goals.
•Identify and pursue new B2B and B2C revenue opportunities in food distribution, specialty markets, grocers, restaurants, and co-ops.
•Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify demand trends, buyer behaviors, and sales channel gaps.
Product & Channel Development
•Collaborate with farm operations and product development teams to ensure offerings align with market needs and consumer demand.
•Oversee pricing strategy, SKU rationalization, and packaging alignment with brand messaging.
•Lead expansion into new sales channels including farmers markets, CSA programs, hospitality, and online distribution.
Sales Process Optimization
•Build and manage a sales team focused on both volume and mission-alignment.
•Implement best practices in pipeline management, client retention, and CRM utilization.
•Monitor KPIs and sales performance metrics with regular reporting to executive leadership.
Brand & Market Positioning
•Work with the marketing team to define sales messaging, visual branding, and product storytelling that resonates with values-based buyers.
•Represent the brand at trade shows, industry events, and agricultural expos to raise visibility and build trust.
Customer Experience & Relationship Building
•Foster strong relationships with existing clients, cooperatives, and industry partners.
•Serve as a brand ambassador to communicate Gypsum Resources’ vision of sustainable and regenerative farming.
Team Development & Leadership
•Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.
•Support cross-functional collaboration with farm managers, operations, and marketing.
Qualifications
•Minimum 10 years of experience in agricultural sales or natural products sales leadership.
•Proven track record of growing market share and building strategic partnerships in agricultural or food distribution.
•Strong leadership and team-building experience.
•Deep understanding of the agricultural industry, including seasonal cycles, food systems, and regenerative practices.
•Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
•Passion for sustainability, food equity, and ethical land use a major plus.
