- This role exists to provide H&S support and guidance to regional locations. This includes the tactical delivery and execution of Health & Safety programs aligned with Strategic Priorities and in support of regional initiatives. - Effective field health and safety technical support in our day-to-day operations.
- Effective support of Regional Leadership in achieving health and safety goals while executing local plans.
- Effective health and safety support to Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs).
- Provide support with implementation of the GDS Health and Safety Program.
- Delivery of select safety training courses and coordination of select third party training courses.
- Leading preventable motor vehicle incident investigations and supporting the Incident Investigations Team for personal injury events that involve GDS employees.
- Provide onsite initial incident response (as required) for GDS, Corporate Service and Project incidents involving Enbridge employees and contractors.
- Provide support and subject matter expertise with implementation, integration and maintenance of GDS and Safety & Reliability (S&R) Health and Safety Programs.
- Work in collaboration with the Enbridge Occupational Hygiene team to coordinate/conduct Industrial Hygiene Testing (EarFit testing, respirator fit testing, noise dosimetry testing, area noise testing, lead sampling, etc.), as required.
- Visible safety leadership through regular field visits, project support and project orientation/kick-off, and support of local Safety Roundtables.
- Support people leaders with provision of early and safe return to work.
- Support Real Estate Workplace Service (REWS) group, as required (fire drills, Fire Captain Training, etc.).
- Advising people leaders in incident severity assessments for Drug & Alcohol Testing Process decision making purposes.
- Provide assurance activity support (audits), as required.
- Local liaison with regulators as required (eg. MLITSD)
- Trusted Advisor for Safety in the Eastern Region
- Supports the development of broader GDS & Central Services Safety Objectives
- Works independently to fulfill responsibilities and networks with stakeholders as required to achieve desired outcomes.
- Leads and supports initiatives, objectives and issues having the potential to impact worker safety and the success of the safety management system.
- Perform day-to-day duties aligning with Enbridge's vision and organizational direction. Focus on successful execution of tasks, managing priorities and responsibilities for the business unit objectives.
- Related University Degree, for candidates who do not possess a University Degree an additional three years of related experience is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of Occupational Safety Experience
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative, self-managed, strategic, initiate and manage change, work collaboratively, negotiate, influence without authority, facilitate, solve problems, make decisions, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results.
- Strong research, problem solving, observation, analytical, and report writing skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven interpersonal, communication (all project organizational levels), writing and computer skills.
- 4 Years of Occupational Safety Experience in the Oil and Gas Sector
