HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The SAP S/4 Development Analyst or Consultant is a strategic role providing SAP S/4 development expertise in the support of the Peoples Gas Systems’ (PGS) Work and Asset Management (WAM) solution. The WAM solution includes an on-premise SAP S/4 implementation of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), SAP’s cloud Field Service Management solution, and SAP’s mobile Service and Asset Management application. Will combine deep understanding and experience of shaping SAP functional and technical solutions associated with maximizing the value of the physical assets of the natural gas division. Develops applications; implements software packages, integrates applications, and provides 24x7 application support. Collaborates on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the application design, development, and implementation phases. Utilizes appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with the IT architecture.
The Systems Analyst Consultant leads complex software development projects. Leads selection and implementation of software packages and drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Serves as subject matter expert in technical discipline. Works under minimal supervision and mentors and directs junior staff. May serve as backup to Manager in a limited capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline from an accredited institution.
- In lieu of bachelor’s degree, additional years related experience may be considered.
- 10 years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.
- Development experience in S/4HANA, including ABAP procedural and object-oriented programming, User Exits, BADIs, Enhancements, Module Pool programming, OData Services, Front end Fiori application development, ABAP Rest Programming Model, ABAP Core Data Services and SAP BTP development.
- Experience with SAP cloud solutions or mobile applications.
- Experience in SAP EAM modules and exposure to SD, FI, HCM or CRM modules.
- Expert knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies. Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies; leads application of new technologies when appropriate.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Frequently presents information to their team and department.
- Develops project plans for small projects; partners with Project Managers to develop project plans for large projects. Assists manager with project scheduling and resource management.
- Creates and reviews technical design specifications and possesses knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture.
- Expert with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Drives continuous process improvement for SDLC, maintenance, application support, and technology architecture.
- Leads complex software development projects. Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications.
- Leads selection and implementation of software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources.
- Leads the integration of applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided.
- Participate in the analysis of the customer's business operations to validate requirements and scope, suggest process improvements, and assist in level of effort (LOE) estimation.
- Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission critical. Coordinates maintenance activities which may include release schedules for one or more functional areas.
- Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff.
- Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff.
- Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager or project managers. Functions as Technical Lead on projects and oversees technical staff; may lead multiple concurrent projects.
- Subject matter expert in multiple business areas, including those relevant to projects and application support assignments.
- Considered a subject matter expert in their technical discipline; mentors and directs junior staff, provides feedback to manager on junior staff performance review. Develops and drives standard practices within their team.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE?
- 2 or more professional certifications in specific job-related disciplines.
- 12 years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.
- Development experience in SAP Business Application Studio.
- Experience with SAP Geoenablement Framework (GEF).

- No direct supervision, but serves in a leadership role overseeing junior staff and contract resources. In this leadership role, oversees projects and/or functional segments within the team, and manages day-to-day responsibilities.
