- Manage the safety of rope access crews, organize job-specific rope access functions, and supervise teams performing industrial and technical services at height.
- Ensure compliance with SPRAT/IRATA standards and organizational safety requirements.
- Perform ultrasonic thickness testing, including equipment setup, calibration, and interpretation of results.
- Provide on-the-job training and support for NDT Level I personnel and trainees.
- Prepare and deliver accurate NDT reports.
- Pay is dependent upon experience.
- Apply Spartan Companies, LLC Non-Destructive Testing standards using rope access methods.
- Serve as safety lead, coordinate jobsite organization, and supervise work crews.
- Conduct UTT and visual inspections; perform MT and PT testing as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure team compliance.
- Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate all skills and knowledge required of a Level III Rope Access Technician.
- Inspect all NDE and rope access equipment before use.
- Perform job-specific NDE tasks.
- Assist in managing safety and quality standards for Rope Access personnel.
- SPRAT or IRATA Level III certification (must be maintained).
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Documented UTT, MT, and PT on-the-job training hours.
- Ability to pass Level II UT testing with Spartan Companies, LLC, and MT/PT testing if applicable.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- ISQ certification (or ability to obtain) is a plus.
- Must pass DISA background check and drug/alcohol screening.
- Valid driver’s license and TWIC card required.
- Effective communication skills and strong teamwork mindset.
- Time-management skills and ability to maintain consistent productivity.
- Work may occur indoors, outdoors, at height, or below grade level.
- Includes loading/unloading tools, material preparation, and equipment assembly/disassembly.
- May involve working near radiant or electrical energy, machinery, or moving objects.
- May require travel and extended or irregular hours.
- Work may occur alongside customer representatives, inspectors, and other contractors.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, climb, twist, push, pull, reach overhead, and identify colors.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to hear (with aid), speak, count, read, write, and operate motor vehicles and equipment.
- Must be able to perceive depth and perform physical activities associated with rope access work.
- Ability to operate computers, calculators, specialized instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, telephones, and vehicles.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hard hat, reinforced-toe footwear, coveralls, gloves, and hearing protection.
