Position Specific Description

Join NextEra Energy as a Lead RNG Production Technician at our Comanche RNG fecility in Lawton, OK. In this role, you will oversee the operations and supervision of RNG Production Technicians, ensuring a steady supply of spec grade feedstock RNG by managing compressors, pumps, valving, and other process equipment.

You will perform routine inspections and maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition, promptly addressing any issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. Accurate records of equipment maintenance, tracking, and production activities must be maintained. You will collaborate with the team to maintain a clean, organized work environment, adhere to all safety protocols, and participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Specific duties include daily supervision of Plant Technician staff, acting as backup to leadership, assisting with startup, shutdown, and operations of facility equipment, training new hires and cross-training staff members, and assisting with plant project planning and execution. You will also identify and resolve problems, ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental rules, recommend plant improvement strategies, maintain plant processes to meet targets, conduct site inspections and audits, perform preventative maintenance, attend required leadership meetings, and develop progressive career plans for employees.

Additionally, you will observe gauges and indicators to ensure proper machine function, comprehend and interpret P&IDs, maintain a clean work environment, work flexible shifts and overtime as needed, assist with annual SOP reviews, monitor construction projects and crews, oversee technical operations, ensure adherence to facility budgets, and build operational schedules. Operating a forklift to move materials within the facility safely is also required.

Job Overview

The RNG Production Technician Leader is responsible for the operations portion of plant by monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment within our RNG production facility. The RNG Production Technician Leader performs routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. Maintains accurate records of equipment maintenance, tracking, and production activities. Collaborates with the team to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adheres to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment. Participates in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skillsets.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Oversee plant operations

- Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment

- Clear and concise documentation management

- Maintain communication with plant personnel and management

- Observe gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly

- Perform preventative and routine maintenance

- Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules

- Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action

- Use scientific rules and methods to solve problems

- Assisting with plant project planning and execution

- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

- High School Grad / GED

- Experience: 7+ years

- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

- Associate's or Equivalent Experience
