Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC) is seeking a Right of Way Technician/Engineering Services Representative (ESR) in Willcox, AZ.
This is a technical role that supports the coordination and execution of Right-of-Way and line extension processes. This position interacts with multiple departments as well as public and private entities. The Right of Way Technician/ESR is responsible for initial and ongoing member interactions related to the line extension process, including the application design fee estimate, easement procurement, property records, permitting, and documentation to support electric utility services.
The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a complete description of comprehensive duties.
- Coordinates with title companies, county assessors, county recorders, franchise holders, land surveyors, real estate agents, and other utility agencies for detailed property research and documentation.
- Secures, examines, and interprets property records, title reports, deeds, covenants, conditions, and restrictions, articles of organization/incorporation, partnership agreements, trust agreements, and operating agreements to determine ownership, easements, liens, mortgages, or other encumbrances on property.
- Evaluates engineering plans and property maps to assess the extent of property requirements for acquisition and easements.
- Prepares legal documents for the acquisition of easements, state, county, and local permits, as well as other rights-of-way.
- Prepares estimates and informs members regarding line extension and policy charges, right-of-way procedures, environmental surveys, and electric rates, and collects monies for billable jobs.
- Associate degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience in title work, real estate, or utility services.
- Ability to read maps, plats, blueprints, engineering drawings, and prepare basic legal descriptions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Arizona Class D driver's license required.
