The Repair Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing blowers and compressors in-house, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards. This role requires hands-on mechanical skills, technical troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols. The Repair Technician also assists with inventory management and shipping coordination when needed.
- Disassemble, evaluate, and diagnose incoming blowers and compressors, identifying root causes of failures.
- Perform repairs and reassembly according to Aerzen repair guidelines and industry best practices.
- Document evaluation results, repairs, and inspections in company records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Assist with inventory stock control and restocking requirements.
- Coordinate with the shipping team for incoming and outgoing equipment.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Follow quality control procedures to ensure all repairs meet company standards.
- Contribute to a positive climate by preventing and eliminating any form of psychological harassment or sexual violence.
- Report to your immediate supervisor any situations that could lead to a harmful, unsafe, or hostile environment.
- Certificate training in industrial machinery repair or as an industrial mechanic or heavy machinery or automotive mechanics or equivalent experience deemed acceptable.
- Industrial Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) will be considered an asset.
- Holding a certification with the Red Seal endorsement will be considered an asset.
- WHMIS, Forklift, and Overhead Crane Certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Two to four years of experience in mechanical repair, preferably in rotating equipment or automotive industries.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment is an asset.
- Effective communication skills in English (written and spoken) are required for this role. For positions located in Eastern Canada, bilingualism in English and French (written and spoken) is required to ensure effective communication with team members and understanding of safety instructions.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with knowledge of industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Forklift operation experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and precision.
- Effective communicator with solid teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Adaptability to occasional field service requirements.
Primarily based in an environmentally controlled shop and warehouse setting with occasional exposure to industrial environments. Work involves handling mechanical components, using tools and machinery, and following safety guidelines in a workshop environment.
The position requires adherence to company safety protocols and collaboration with teams to uphold a safe working environment during on-site engagements.
- Maintain awareness of workplace safety procedures and promote safe practices during interactions at client sites.
- Ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting customer facilities or hazardous environments.
- Report any observed health and safety risks at customer locations to your immediate supervisor.
- Participate in mandatory safety training programs and adhere to the company's safety policies.
- Frequent standing, walking, and handling of equipment.
- Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, and lifting (up to 100 lbs).
- Ability to work in confined spaces and operate machinery safely.
