Operates equipment in the clearing of JEA right-of-ways.
High school diploma (GED) and two years of related experience in operating various equipment related to vegetation control.
Possesses mechanical and technical skills. Communicates effectively and maintains professionalism.
First Aid and CPR Certification within six months of employment.
The ability to lift, carry, and use heavy tools and materials. The ability to safely operate a standard equipped JEA vehicle. The ability to safely operate specially equipped JEA construction/maintenance equipment. The ability to operate JEA field service installation equipment. The ability to orally communicate via radio and telephone. The ability to walk several miles over rough terrain. The ability to enter/exit 22" diameter accessways as well as work in confined spaces. The ability to see and read printed material. Ambulatory.
Outdoor, all-weather conditions. Exposure to high voltage power. Location and work hours are determined by Management and may be adjusted as needed.
Must have and maintain a valid Tennessee Class “A” license with air brake and tanker endorsement within six months of employment.
Must maintain an operating telephone and furnish the number to his/her supervisor and Systems Dispatch.
