How You’ll Make An Impact
- Propose, contribute to and lead R&D projects in power and energy systems
- Collaborate with a global team to identify and solve real-world challenges for our customers.
- Propose and work on novel ideas and concepts for the next generation of power systems.
- Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise.
- Collaborate with external partners including universities, startups, and vendors.
- Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

- Ph.D. degree in either Electrical Engineering or ISE/Operation research degree with power system application focus
- Power system operation principles and issues
- Power system modeling, AC and DC grids, including DER and IBR modeling.
- Market based system operation.
- Constrained optimization theory and tools for Linear Programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP), Non-Linear Programming (NLP), Non-Linear Mixed Integer Programming (NLMIP)
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Fluency in common programming languages like Python or C++, Matlab- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
