Anticipated Salary Range: $70,803.20 - $90,272.00

Description:
The role of the Research and Business Intelligence Manager is to support the President/CEO and organization staff by providing timely data and analytics to enhance organizational efforts. This is rare opportunity to put your creative, problem-finding, analytical skills to use to improve the economy of Greenville – Pitt County. This position analyzes data, develops insights, and conducts research to inform decision-makers about the economic, labor, and real estate market opportunities as well as the potential challenges and solutions facing the Greenville MSA.
Duties:
The position mines a combination of public (BLS, Census, etc.), private, and confidential data sources to answer questions, solve problems, and formulate insights that can benefit our diversity of partners and needs. Using their knowledge of economics and social science research practices, the manager helps compile data, conduct research, apply results, and communicate implications and solutions through reports, blog articles, visualizations, and presentations.
Typical work performed by this position includes:
•Benchmarking across various economic factors, policy research, advocacy support, and managing information responses to Request for Proposals 20-40%
•Data and Analytics support of different alliance functions 20-40%:
+ Business attraction and retention
+ Real estate – site and building development
+ Marketing, communications, and media
+ Talent development and retention
+ Small business and entrepreneurship
•Discrete project and team support (live projects) 10%
+ Identify, evaluate and implement new research tools and resources, including third-party data software, visualization and information management tools and subscriptions. Stay abreast of new research tools and comparative resources, piloting and testing as appropriate.
•Special Projects from President/CEO 10%
•General office and miscellaneous support (Be a good teammate) 10%
Additional Functions:
•Performs other related duties as required
Desired Experience:
•Expert level quantitative skills
•Experience operating within team environment
•Working autonomously as a self-starter to take an assignment, lay out a workplan, then review and finalize plan with CEO, followed by execution and project delivery
•Multi-tasking experience with ability to manage multiple requests and projects simultaneously
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in research, analytics, business intel, or related fields. Masters’ level preferred
•At least two (2) years’ working experience preferred with project examples
•Working knowledge of trends in economic development, collaborations of public-private partnerships, and support from institutions of higher learning
•Superior communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with an attention to detail.
•Tech savvy – expert level with research portals, SaaS, and open-source mining (i.e. BLS, Esri, Emsi/Lightcast, and others)
•Expert level with Microsoft Excel and/or Tableau tools
•Detail-oriented and highly organized
Availability Requirements:
•This position will be located in our Greenville, North Carolina office with a typical week being in the office Monday through Thursday with a hybrid workday on Friday.
•Office/home flexibility is permitted when management has the ability to provide options.
•You must be present at our office during the required in-office workdays.
•The position may entail occasional on-site visits to a client’s facility, which could be manufacturing, distribution, or similar industrial environment.
•Domestic and international travel may occasionally be required.
Special License(s) or Certification(s) Required:
•Must have and maintain a valid NC driver’s license
