The below job summary and responsibilities reflects the duties of the Staff Engineer, Engineer and Senior Engineer will differ as different skills and/or experience will be required. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.

Position Summary

Exciting opportunity to be part of Xcel Energy’s solar-focused reliability engineering team. Get in on the ground floor during the design and construction phase of multiple upcoming utility scale solar farms. Develop and apply in-demand skills to a rapidly growing renewables generation portfolio. Technical skills in SCADA, electrical substations, inverters, reliability engineering concepts, and general solar photovoltaic plant equipment are desired. Position will work closely with Operations and Performance Optimization engineers to achieve top-quartile facility performance. Where appropriate, employee will be asked to apply overlapping skills to Xcel Energy’s established and growing wind generation fleet. Periodic travel to existing and planned generation facilities may be required.

Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding & wide application of engineering technical principle, theories, & concepts in the field. Independently determines & develops approaches to solutions. Receives technical guidance on complex problems; completed work reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. May lead small-medium non-critical projects or critical projects under direction of higher-level engineer/supervisor. May provide work direction to other professionals &/or staff. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Frequent inter-organizational & outside customer contact. Demonstrates a broad knowledge & proficiency of precedents in the specialty area, a good knowledge of related specialties, & general knowledge of other related disciplines.

Minimum Requirements: Engineer (Salary Range: $68,300-$86,500)

Minimum Requirements: Staff Engineer (Salary Range: $79,800-$103,666)

Minimum Requirements: Senior Engineer (Salary Range: $94,600-$126,134)

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $68,300.00 to $126,134.00 per year
