Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in filling the position of Licensing Engineer at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick, Pennsylvania.

- Evaluates, plans, and conducts engineering assignments.
- Works alone or as part of a project team.
- Leads engineers, technicians, analysts or others within the work group or cross-functional team as required by job assignment.
- Prepares more complex engineering assignments, alone or as part of a team.
- Ensures problems are being identified and resolved.
- Reviews design documentation to determine compliance with Licensing basis criteria or standards.
- Schedules work to meet completion dates, station need and technical specifications.
- Works independently with minimal guidance in a variety of engineering functions which may include activities such as development of License Amendment Requests, licensee response to NRC requests, and review of station conditions for applicable reporting requirements.
- Provides functional support for various regulatory programs and areas, such as 10 CFR 50.59, commitment management, reporting, etc. Provides effective regulatory advice and interpretations of Licensing documents, e.g. Technical Specifications, 50.59 requirements, Inspection Procedures.
- Interact with NRC personnel on inspections, regulatory issues, pending NRC actions, and potential inspection findings.
- Communicates issues and results to NRA leadership and impacted organizations.
- Supports the Corrective Action Program by participating in screening team and condition reviews for reporting or potential regulatory impacts.
- May represent Talen Energy in industry regulatory activities including interaction with external organizations.
- Candidates must meet the basic qualifications of one of the following qualification groups to receive consideration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, engineering technology, or other related science discipline from a college or university accredited by ABET, or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, engineering technology, or other related science discipline from a college or university accredited by ABET, or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years related engineering experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, engineering technology, or other related science discipline from a college or university accredited by ABET, or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ related engineering experience.
- Engineer in Training Certificate.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for the specific position.
- Professional Engineering registration in Pennsylvania
