The OBR Regional Field Manager (RFM) is responsible for supporting all field construction activities in his/her assigned area to help ensure project success. The RFM will assist with identifying, interviewing, hiring, and managing all construction field personnel in their assigned territory. He/she will be responsible for assigning and developing crews of various sizes and craft makeup to various cooling tower construction projects and supporting crew activities to ensure project success. The Regional Field Manager will also support OBR Sales in the sales process and with planning field activities associated with cooling tower repair and construction. The RFM will help plan and monitor construction projects to ensure safe work, cost-effectiveness, and timely completion. Travel is required.
ROLES/TASKS OF THE POSITION
•Report daily to the Senior Construction Manager about activities within his/her area.
•Work with Human Resources to manage construction labor including hiring interviews, assigning projects, and the development of direct reports.
•Coordinate with the Senior Construction Manager to assign proper OBR field supervision and personnel to projects. Coordinate with the Construction team when assigning personnel to projects through PROCORE.
•Assure Superintendents have complete job packets before mobilizing them to the project site.
•Facilitate pre-job turnover meetings with the Superintendent and construction team.
•Oversee, direct, and support field supervision on construction projects from beginning to end.
•Ensure adherence to budget and, when unexpected complications or issues arise, make quick and necessary adjustments. Collaborate with OBR Senior Construction Manager, sales, project management, and safety to develop solutions.
•Collaborate with clients, OBR Sales, Project Management, and Safety regarding safety requirements, and project support.
•Coordinate with OBR Senior Construction Manager, sales, project management, and safety to develop safe work plans, schedules, and installation progress reports.
•Assess project equipment needs and select suppliers for equipment rental and field job supplies.
•Assure equipment is off rent at the completion of all projects and coordinate pickup with the vendor.
•Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite.
•Review and approve weekly payroll submissions.
•Help plan, lead, and participate in OBR annual construction/safety meetings.
•Attend the weekly Construction Managers' Meeting. Support other regions and all field resources to achieve project success.
•Travel to project sites weekly.
•Coordinate and attend pre-construction meetings with the clients.
•Submit daily project reports to the Senior Construction Manager.
•Follow and enforce OBR Corporate policies and procedures.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES
•High school diploma, or equivalent.
•5+ years of cooling tower construction experience, with a minimum of 3 - 5 years as a Superintendent.
•Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, OBR Policies and Procedures, and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
•Maintain active status in all assigned DISA consortiums.
•Proven track record in construction management.
•Strong ability to lead and manage field teams, providing guidance and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
•Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment within his/her region.
•Construction Manager certification preferred.
•Good organizational skills and mechanical aptitude.
•Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Suite. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., PROCORE) and other tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
•Self-starter with a willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute.
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Industrial plant experience.
•Ability to manage fast paced environment and troubleshoot field issues.
PREREQUITES / REQUIREMENTS
•Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.
•Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
•Score of a 2 or less in a DISA background screen.
•TWIC card or the ability to obtain one.
