About This Job
The Field Project Engineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the craft workers. Activities include support of layout, daily resource requirements, lay-down yard management, daily costs, time and quantities, logs, and daily and weekly look-ahead schedules, etc.
•Interfaces with Foremen to track daily costs, collect time and quantities while maintaining daily logs/diaries; ensures quantities are updated for monthly financials
•Ensures resources such as equipment are available to meet project needs
•Under direction of Superintendents, coordinates generation of required documentation such as status reports (RFI's, deviation reports, constructability reviews), punch lists, and shop and construction drawings
•Collects field information to assist Foremen and Superintendents in preparation of daily and weekly look-ahead schedules and work plans
•Gathers, communicates, and maintains documentation of targets and goals
•Assists more experienced engineers or surveyors with field layout activities and measurement
•Generates and maintains material logs
•Manages storage of on-site equipment and material
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years’ of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
