Pelican Power Management Company, LLC (Pelican Power) is owned by Atlas Industries Holdings, LLC. Pelican Power’s four generating assets provide reliable energy generation and capacity in Texas and Louisiana. These facilities include Cottonwood Power Station in Deweyville, Texas as well as Bayou Cove Power Station in Jennings, LA, Big Cajun I Power Station in Jarreau, LA, and Big Cajun II Power Station in New Roads, LA.
Kindle Energy Management Company LLC is working with Pelican Power to recruit for the role of Regional Business Manager to support the power generating assets managed by Kindle Energy as part of the Pelican Power LLC power generation portfolio.
The Regional Business Manager manages the development and coordination of annual operating budgets, including capital projects, and ensures compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures, including those related to fixed assets and inventory. Provides oversight for administrative support services to the station, including, but not limited to, accounting payable and accounts receivable. Responsible for directing administrative staff to assist plant personnel with technical administrative tasks for effective plant operations. Acting Maximo (EAM) champion to ensure effective use and the system delivers maximum value to the business.
- Development and coordination of annual operating budgets, including capital projects, for Pelican Power assets. Develops annual business plans (five-year forecasts) for Pelican Power assets.
- Coordinates monthly/quarterly budget related activities, including accruals, variance report and reforecasting to support efforts in achievement of financial goals.
- Provide leadership to the support staff to drive the execution of administrative initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives.
- Acting Maximo Champion is responsible for driving the adoption, effective use, and continuous improvement of the IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system. Act as a central resource and advocate for Maximo, ensuring the system delivers maximum value to the organization.
- Leads the processing of invoices for Pelican Power, including review, processing of invoices and resolution of problem invoices to ensure vendors are paid correctly and timely to promote continued business operations for materials and services.
- Provides leadership to staff performing AP/AR tasks.
- Provides oversight into internal and external audit projects/processes through assessment of benefits, risks and costs aligned with of the business strategy of Pelican Power
- Perform accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close; duties include recording of plant accruals, inventory, and other entries as needed.
- Perform month end account reconciliations
- Assist the completeness of the year-end financial statement audit process.
- Excels at delivering change management to ensure the change is sustainable and the benefits are realized.
- Other ad hoc projects, as assigned.
- Occasional work outside of normal business hours
- Power Generation Plant worksite environment
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- 5+ years of related professional experience- Experience in budgeting, with emphasis on budget preparation and variance reporting
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret KPI’s/ metrics and derive insights into actionable opportunities
- Minimum of 2 years people management experience
- Knowledge and practical user skills in Maximo
- Knowledge of standard business practices and professionalism
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees to address difficult issues
- Ability to manage high workloads and conflicting priorities
- Ability to operate effectively and proactively with an employee centric mindset
- Detailed-oriented and high work standards in support of seamless execution
- Drive issues to resolution while maintaining an atmosphere of collaboration
- Maintain a strong knowledge of industry and technology trends
