About Houston


ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team



Responsible for the support of railcar maintenance strategies in alignment with the ExxonMobil and Imperial Oil Railcar Maintenance Manual and federal regulatory requirements for North America. This position will aid in the interaction of chemical products to equipment specifications. Position will also develop reliability analysis, and repair data to drive improved service integrity and overall railcar maintenance costs. This position requires sound business judgment with a customer focus as well as the ability to promote strong working relationships with business unit representatives and the railcar supply chain


What you will do


Provide technical reliability analysis for evaluation of trends and development of improvement plans.

Provide guidance and direction on the interrelationship and compatibility between commodities and rail/coatings equipment.
Provide guidance and direction on the interior railcar preparation and cleanliness requirements related to commodity products.
Support incident response and root cause analysis investigations.
Provide asset based cost analysis to support Life Cycle Costs decisions.
Support the development of maintenance cost reduction strategies and strategies to comply with applicable regulatory requirements and align with business needs.
Develop engineering scopes of work to allow for execution of maintenance strategies.
Aid in evaluation of new rail coatings and equipment for potential impact on maintenance procedures.
Steward and support new railcar acquisitions and facilitate construction monitoring.
Steward and support lease car onboarding including modification instructions.
Provide support to customers, manufacturing, terminals, railroads, etc.for inquiries concerning equipment specifications and requirements.
Participate in procurement contract reviews to align contracts with RPO guidelines and specifications.
About you


Skills and Qualifications


B.S. in Mechanical Engineering

10% - 15% travel required throughout North America
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently
Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience


Petrochemical industry
Reliability Engineering analysis and statistics
Railcar or fixed equipment maintenance
Maintenance planning and managing a supplier network
Access or Excel Power Query
