Platinum is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the Platinum Solutions Quality Assurance plan within the assigned location(s) ensuring that quality products are delivered to our customers. The manager will comprehend and implement programs and processes to ensure that all products are safe, compliant and meet or exceed customer expectations. Transport Canada and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) as well as AAR MSRP’s. Mange the Quality/Quality Assurance team members and activities in support of business objects within the assigned location(s).

· HS Diploma or GED required; Advanced secondary education preferred.
· On-going training combining both online and offsite resources will be required.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment; Experience supervising railcar repairmen preferred
· Extensive knowledge of railcars and tank car anatomy; 3 to 5 years railcar repair experience
· Extensive knowledge of AAR, Transport Canada (TDG), FRA and Car Owner railcar maintenance standards
· Prior experience with quality processes and procedures including ISO 9000, M-1002, M-1003, TP14877E, Process Management/Continuous Improvement
· AAR M-1003 Basic Auditor; Advanced Auditor preferred
· ASQ certified quality auditor or equivalent audit certificate (may be obtained within the first 6 months of employment)
· Ability and willingness to meet all internal and external customer and regulatory suitability requirements required
· Air Brake Certification pers S-486 (may be obtained within 1 year of employment)
· Clean driving abstract with no suspensions or convictions in the past 3 years
· Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and maneuvering hoses and equipment up to 75 lbs
· Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime as required
· Willing to work out of town as required
· Arrives to each shift ready to work with a good attitude, ambition and professionalism
· Able to work as part of a team
· Ability to read and write (English) general documentation
· Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
· Provides management and leadership to facility QA team members
· Integrates quality functions into a multi-discipline work environment
· Plans and assigns duties to QA team members to verify a quality product is delivered to the customer on a consistent and repeatable basis
· Quality decisions are guided by adherence to the Quality Program and customer specifications
· Holds subordinate accountable for budgets, schedules performance standards
· Responsible for the activities and the assigned facilities and capable of supported the QA program at multiple locations
· Perform internal audits to confirm compliance with PSL, regulatory and customer requirements
· Manages and executes the Quality program for assigned location to ensure delivery of a quality product to the customers
· Responsible for executing facility level quality program and customer specification training for new and existing team members
· Complete daily reports, log inspections and work orders
· Keep up to date with schedule and progress reporting
· Provide excellent customer service while promoting a superior company image
