Job Description: Quality Technician
Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Tech performs in-process and finished product audits, performs testing in the Quality Lab, reports data, and follows through with non-conformances are dispositions. This position works closely with the operators, leads, and supervisors to ensure conformance to company quality standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
•Support the Quality Management System (ISO9001), document creation & control, auditing, quality reject investigation & reporting, and project assignments
•Receives, reviews, updates, and dispositions RMAs.
•Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR).
•Load/Compression testing and managing Quality Lab/test equipment.
•Perform in-process and final inspections.
•Accurately measure parts using micrometers, hand gages, or other precision instruments
•Guide, instruct, and monitor others in inspection or other manufacturing areas, as directed by the Quality Manager
•Participate in corrective action and root cause analysis
•Participate in or conduct quality training
•Identify any nonconforming material and remove it from production
•Log and communicate any nonconforming material
•Identify concerns or issues related to the key quality metrics;
•Monitor Calibration dates and schedule calibration accordingly
•Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
•Requires one or more years of experience in various phases of production inspection and quality control techniques required to obtain sufficient background to perform full scope of duties
•Knowledgeable in the use of measuring tools such as but not limited to: tape measures, micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore gages, and optical comparator.
•Microsoft Office Suite experience
•Previous ERP experience, Plex preferred.
•CMM and layout experience desired.
•Background in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) and an understanding of ISO 9001 desired.
•Effective written and verbal communication to include technical writing with the ability to read/understand/apply written instructions, procedures, and technical standards.
•Experience with Minitab preferred.
•Thorough and meticulous work habits showing a positive attitude, and a high degree of initiative.
•Strong communication skills and follow-up for customer interaction
•Willing to work in both the office and the shop floor
