Bell Lumber & Pole is seeking a Quality Technical Specialist to support the quality of our operational functions across our Southern locations. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring that utility poles and production processes meet strict industry standards and company expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, availability for moderate travel, and a passion for maintaining high-quality standards.
Location: South Eastern US (Travel between OK, LA, AR, MS) | Reports To: Quality Manager
+ Conduct production yard audits and stock apply inspections. + Monitor pole inventory, perform physical re-assays, and document findings. + Retest poles inspected by QC Technicians for accuracy and compliance.
+ Train and mentor QC Technicians and production staff on inspection techniques, grading, and customer-specific testing. + Provide onboarding and refresher quality training as needed.
+ Maintain accurate inspection records and databases. + Manage treating certificate documentation and ensure calibration of critical equipment.
+ Participate in root cause investigations for quality issues and propose corrective actions. + Support continuous improvement initiatives through audits and best-practice training.
+ Collaborate with customers to address and resolve quality concerns professionally.
+ Ensure inspections and processes meet safety, regulatory, and company standards. + Assist the Quality Manager with reviewing and maintaining industry specification kits.
+ Travel regularly to Bell locations and customer sites as needed.
