Job Summary
This position will be in the quality department as a manufacturing quality inspector within the Troutdale facility. The Quality Inspector will support manufacturing processes by performing inspections and aid in resolving quality issues, perform calibration of all measuring equipment, perform incoming inspections, and control nonconforming product and disposition.
Responsibilities:
•Ensures safety of personnel and compliance with all applicable health and safety rules, policies and regulations.
•Maintains a high level of safety awareness and performance within the department.
•Serves as a technical resource for the department.
•Leads training efforts in the department, as needed.
•Delegates responsibilities as needed.
•Ensures quality process is being followed per all company and customer specifications.
•Ensures all department actions are consistent with the QMS (Quality Management System).
•Fosters team building and collaboration across functional areas at all levels.
•Participates in team leadership meetings and trainings, as requested.
•Collaborates with other team leaders to ensure resources and information are being shared and used effectively to meet the needs of the department and quality standards.
•Leads by example and treats others with dignity and respect at all times.
•Operates equipment and machines according to specific operational and safety instructions.
•Perform inspections on product in process on the manufacturing floor
•Perform incoming inspection
•Perform inspections on product using the CMM
•Oversee disposition and control of Non-Conforming product
•Oversee calibration program
•Assist with gage R&R studies
•Perform capability studies
•Support and be involved in continuous improvement projects
Qualifications:
•Working knowledge in metric measurements.
•Working knowledge in GD&T Tolerance.
•Must be able to read blueprints accurately.
•Must possess good leadership qualities.
•Must have initiative to take ideas and direction and convert to workable solutions with minimal direction.
•Good organizational skills to prioritize and execute multiple work activities.
•Good personal skills to develop good rapport with all plant personnel.
•Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•High level of enthusiasm and energy.
•Able to read and interpret company documents; such as safety rules, operating instructions, policies and procedures.
•Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
•Ability to read a measuring tape.
Education & Experience:
•Must have a diverse, working knowledge in GD&T and Blueprint reading.
•Must have strong computer skills
•Experience using SAP is a plus
•Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
Physical Requirements:
•Continuous mental and visual attention is required.
•Requires constant alertness and attention to detail for inspections.
•Performing these duties may involve lifting, pulling, or pushing physical objects; standing, stooping and bending for long periods of time.
•Potential of working in hot, cold, noisy work areas and being exposed to odors, fumes, and dust.
•Must be able to constantly sustain exertion and lifting of parts ranging from 1 to 50 lbs.
•Personal Protective Equipment includes safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and ear plugs in required areas.
