Mohawk Metal, a Eugene metal fabrication company with two locations, has an immediate requirement for a fulltime qualified Quality Inspector for our Vancouver facility. The qualified candidate must have:
Perform inspection prior to shipping to assure conformance to customer and company requirements. Provide in process inspection including first articles when requested. Manage documentation required per company quality control manual.
1. Confirms count, quality, specifications and properly ID a wide variety of in- process or complete processed and fabricated parts. Following company QA procedures.
2. Support the operations team to meet customer needs as well as expedite processes.
3. Gather orders for shipment to customer to ensure complete orders are ready. Count and check against work order requirements.
4. Inspect parts in a proper and organized fashion, consistent with company procedures.
5. Maintain accurate documentation of product quality, including certificate of conformance, inspection reports and material traceability.
6. Prepare QC documents packages for shipments when required by the customer.
7. Perform quality inspection practices per procedure on third party work as well as internal.
8. Work directly with department managers to meet scheduling needs for shipments.
9. Meet with customers and vendors both at Mohawk and at outside facilities to ensure our QA needs are met as well as the customers when needed.
10. Ensure QC is done in a timely fashion to meet the needs of the shipping department and customer schedule.
11. Serve as final Quality checkpoint on finished goods. Report any observed quality or count discrepancies to the proper supervisor or lead.
12. Perform all work functions within established safety rules, guidelines, and policies.
14. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality.
· Primarily indoor work environment, requiring light to moderate physical activity.
· Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
· Ability to read SAE and Metric tape measures as well as use calipers and other measuring devices.
· Must have good written, email and verbal communication skills.
· Minimum 5-years’ experience in metal fabrication required.
· Understanding of Welding Code specifications and requirements.
· Experience with the use of Microsoft office products.
· Must complete training for bolt installation / pre-installation verification demonstrate pre-installation verification check within 30 days of hire.
