Role Summary/Purpose
This position develops and directs testing procedures to ensure high quality products. Quality control (QC) procedures and tests should encompass all phases of plant operation from receipt of raw materials through the manufacturing process and tests of finished products. Performs inspections and calibrations in accordance with requirements, codes, and standards.
Essential Responsibilities•Work with Quality Department and Engineering in developing quality procedures.
•Document QC operations; make recommendations for improving production process.
•Perform calibration of measuring and test equipment according to set schedule and keep history data base of calibrations.
•Perform receiving in-process and final inspection of product. Record findings according to acceptability requirements per drawings and specs.
•Examine and record dimensional conformance to drawings using measuring and inspection tools and equipment. Create DMR documentation for in-process components if needed.
•Gather Purchase Order, Drawings, Packing List and enter into receiving/inspection log. List on PO copy; heat #s, qty, applicable MDR#, qty sampled, "inspected" stamp, date and initial of inspector.
•Support production in assembly of valves when needed.
•Support production in training when needed.
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education and Experience
•High School Diploma or GED
•Experience in the operation of quality control systems or in a manufacturing environment.
Other Qualifications
•Analytical ability to develop appropriate tests of product quality required.
•Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings a plus. Computer skills in programs including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Epicor.
•Weld inspection experience a plus.
Certifications
•ASQ or technical certification a plus.
•UV-1, certified inspector certification. If not held, must be able to obtain within 12 months of employment.
