GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Chroma Systems Solutions, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of power testing instruments and systems including programmable AC Power Source and DC Power Supplies, AC loads and DC Electronic Loads, Digital Power Meters and Automated Testing Systems for applications in LED Lighting, Led Drivers, Aerospace, Defense, Military, Automotive, Medical, Battery, Solar, Marine, and Regulatory Testing purposes.
This role is meant for someone who has a foundation of QA/QC and anywhere from 3-to-5 years of proven experience within the electrical manufacturing industry. The Quality Engineer will help ensure that Chroma continues to remain compliant under ISO-9001: 2015 requirements as well as with international quality standards under design, execution, and analysis of our power supply testing procedures. You will help support continuous review and improvement while overseeing defect prevention across all testing protocols, reporting systems, and supplier quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop and maintain testing QMS procedures specific to electrical power supplies and components.
•Audit calibration and testing processes for compliance with ISO 9001 and electrical safety standards (e.g., UL, IEC).
•Ensure traceability of test data including voltage, current, load response, and thermal performance results.
•Lead root cause analysis for failed test units and implement corrective/preventive actions.
•Collaborate with test engineers to integrate ISO-compliant processes into automated test stations and reporting tools.
•Train lab and production staff on ISO 9001 policies relevant to power supply testing and reliability assurance.
•Review and approve supplier testing procedures and ensure incoming components meet QMS benchmarks.
•Deep understanding of electrical test systems, especially power supplies, converters, and load banks.
•Experience with test documentation systems, including lab reports, deviation logs, and calibration records.
•Familiarity with ISO 9001 clauses, especially Clause 8 (Operation) and Clause 9 (Performance Evaluation) as they apply to technical environments.
•Strong analytical and failure mode assessment skills.
•Proficiency with quality tools like FMEA, SPC, and CAPA methodologies is strongly desired
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is strongly preferred; willing to accept years of relevant and prior experience in a professional setting in lieu of a degree from accredited university
•Certified ISO 9001: 2015 - Internal Auditor experience
•3-to-5 years of relevant and prior experience in test engineering and/or quality roles under electronics industry
•Familiarity with LabVIEW, oscilloscopes, DAQ's and thermal cameras
•Strong MS Office skills, especially within Excel is a strong plus
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a non-supervisory position
