Job Summary:
The Quality Coordinator will oversee and ensure the quality of all engineering processes and outputs within COOEC Canada’s oil engineering projects. This role involves developing and implementing engineering quality management systems, control procedures, working sheets, conducting engineering audits, and ensuring compliance with engineering quality management system requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System Development:
•Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems for engineering processes.
•Develop and update quality assurance procedures and working sheets.
Engineering Audit:
•Conduct engineering discipline audits at various project phases as per the audit plan.
•Provide feedback to the engineering team based on audit results and take necessary corrective and preventive actions.
•Monitor and track the performance of QPI defined by the project, issuing non-conformance reports as required.
Compliance and Standards:
•Ensure all engineering activities comply with established quality control procedures.
•Update quality documents as required.
Quality Activities for Procurement Support:
•Prepare and review quality requirements, project quality plans, inspection levels, and quality certification requirements for various equipment for RFQ/PO packages.
•Coordinate with equipment suppliers and third-party inspection during project execution according to quality requirements.
•Review supplier quality manuals, quality plans, ITPs, quality records, NDE, and welding procedures for various equipment.
•Identify inspection scope, bid evaluation, and clarification.
•Prepare inspection assignment packages for inspectors and estimate man-hours.
•Prepare and host prefabrication meetings, and take follow-up actions.
•Attend supplier weekly meetings, shop inspections, and tests as required.
•Coordinate and review inspection reports, issuing non-conformance reports as needed.
•Conduct project surveys and evaluate supplier performance.
Training and Support:
•Provide training and support to engineering teams on quality management systems and best practices.
•Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of quality within the organization.
Reporting and Documentation:
•Maintain detailed records of engineering quality activities, findings, and corrective actions.
•Prepare and present quality reports to management and stakeholders.
Collaboration:
•Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met.
•Facilitate communication between different departments to address quality issues and improvements.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the oil and gas industry.
•Strong knowledge of industry quality standards and regulations for engineering quality (e.g., API, ASME, ISO, ABSA).
•Proficient in quality management tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and FMEA.
•Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
