Summary:

We are seeking a dependable QC Inspector to support quality control activities in our ASME fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will perform visual inspections, verify dimensions, and check components for compliance with drawings, weld maps, and material traceability requirements. This is a hands-on, shop-floor position that plays a key role in ensuring quality and code compliance.

Responsibilities

- Perform visual and dimensional inspections on welds, parts, and assemblies

- Verify fit-up, weld size, locations, and joint prep prior to welding

- Ensure correct materials, heat numbers, and MTRs are used and recorded

- Complete in-process and final inspection reports

- Support final QC walkdowns and customer/third-party inspections

- Communicate with shop personnel to resolve quality issues in real time.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fabrication or welding inspection role(ASME code shop preferred)

- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and ITPs

- Proficiency with basic measuring tools: tape measure, calipers, level, gauges

- Familiarity with weld joint types, typical defects, and fit-up tolerances

- Basic understanding of material traceability (heat numbers & MTRs)

- Clear documentation and communication skills

- Basic computer/data entry ability (Excel, Word, PDFs, inspection forms)

- Basic NDE knowledge (VT, MT, PT) certification is a plus but not required(Level II training & certification offered)

- Knowledge of ASME or API codes is preferred but not required

- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
