Irving Materials Inc. is hiring a full time QC Area Coordinator for our Central Illinois area.
Summary:
The job of a Quality Control Area Coordinator is to manage the quality of imi’s products and processes within a designated territory while ensuring those products meet project specifications and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform testing procedures, evaluate the results and report those results to the QC Manager
•Review engineering specifications and complete mix submittals
•Maintain dosage rates of all concrete products
•Maintain the plant’s batching system with accurate product and mix design information
•Concrete troubleshooting
•Maintain records and report results in a neat and timely manner
•Sample and test raw materials
•Interact with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality raw materials
•Maintain a clean and professional lab
•Educate employees and customers regarding products and overall concrete knowledge
•Coordinate with imi production, sales and administrative personnel on a daily basis
•Participate in industry committees and participate in continuing education
•Additional duties/special projects as assigned by management
•Maintain certifications and qualifications through exams, seminars and related industry courses.
•Cooperate with their respective QC Manager in addition to assisting in achieving and maintaining the company’s corporate quality vision.
•Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
•Maintain an appropriate level of professionalism and exhibit a manner of conduct consistent with promoting a good image for the company
Requirements:
•High School diploma or GED required
•5 years experience in the concrete industry or related education
•Must be recognized, within 90 days of hire date, by American Concrete Institute (ACI) as a Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 (Level 1 Technician). Must obtain Level 2 and 3 within first 4 years
•Must have the ability to perform mathematical operations involving variables and percentages
•Must have the ability to assess situations and solve problems quickly
•Must have the ability to lift 80 pounds
•Proficiency in Microsoft Windows programs, including MS Word and Excel.
•Effective oral and written communication skills

•Dependent on experience and qualifications.
