POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Lead is responsible for the inspection and testing of all WellBoss products for defects and deviations according to specifications, including parts manufactured internally, those assembled internally, and those received from outside vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Quality Control Lead is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:
•Identify features on a print.
•Visual inspections to identify damage, material issues and labeling mistakes.
•Operate the parts shaker.
•Move material to and from designated areas.
•Fill out and tag non-conforming parts.
•Perform visual inspection on received and sub-assembled product.
•Meet daily production goals.
•Maintain minimal returned products from other departments
•Inspecting thread features without inspection aids.
•Set up thread inspection gages.
•Create and inspect molds.
•Perform inspection on complex parts.
•Responsible for in process inspection to ensure quality production runs.
•Visual and thread inspection on final assemblies.
•Pressure test on final assemblies.
•Inspect packaged product that is ready for shipment or transfer.
•Understanding of calibration systems.
•Create NCRs when needed.
•Movement of inventory in current electronic system.
•Train others on use of the Optical Comparator and Height Gauge
•Use height gauge to inspect various features.
•In-depth calibration using the Mic track and other equipment.
•Adjust gauges when out of calibration.
•Inspect features and run programs on the Faro Arm.
•First Articles on all products produced in house.
•Train others on more efficient inspection methods.
•Routine testing and work under close supervision for non-routine testing.
•Meet productivity goals/targets on a per shift basis.
•Record and report testing results and assist in test evaluation.
•Coordinate daily activities with supervisor or other team members to accommodate adjustments to task priorities, changes in laboratory equipment, test procedures, and raw materials.
•Recognize when test results are not meeting expectations and notify supervisor.
•Accurately input test results into database
•Hardness testing on post induction hardened cast iron and raw cast iron material
•Can operate and program the Faro Arm.
•Update the Calibration system.
•Train others to perform pressure tests.
•Coordinate employees to ensure priority items are inspected.
•Scrap material in the inventory system, effective use of ERP system
•Locate all out of calibration items within the facility.
•Inspection of post job returned equipment.
•Process nonconforming parts related to vendor returns.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The Quality Control Lead must at a minimum possess the following:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
•Previous experience (5+ years) as an Inspector in a manufacturing setting is required.
•Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently is preferred.
•Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
•Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to liaise professionally with team members and system users.
•Ability to perform assigned tasks with moderate supervision.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Quality Control Lead must be able to:
•Operate basic office machines, such as a computer, copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.
•Lift a minimum of 50lbs., repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
•Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
•Wear the appropriate PPE when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
•Stand or sit for long periods of time; up to 8-12 hours a day.
