Looking for a skilled Mechanic/Millwright to disassemble, evaluate and assemble industrial pumps and machinery. An excellent mechanic would have manual dexterity and attention to detail and be able to work with various tools as well as follow all safety precautions.
Previous experience with various styles of pumps, blowers, compressors, gear reducers and/or other mining equipment is a significant advantage.
- Dismantle machine or equipment using hand tools or power tools and examine parts for defects.
- Document defects, dimensions, and make specific observations about equipment condition using supplied forms and cameras for photos
- Remove and replace defective parts with new part or repaired parts using hand & power tools.
- Assembles and test or operate equipment to verify correction of malfunction has been made.
- Maintain, lubricates tools and equipment, and maintains clean, organized work area.
- Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
- Undertake other duties as assigned
- Combination of 3-5 years of trade school, vocational education and work experience as a Mechanic or Millwright
- Excellent knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, and other systems and their components
- Aptitude in using various hand tools (wrenches, pry bars, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
- Experience using overhead cranes, hydraulic presses, grinders, drills and other common shop tools
- A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines and a safe work record.
