As the Project Safety Professional, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety programs and protocols at our construction sites. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all safety measures are adhered to, reducing the risk of accidents and creating a safe working environment for all personnel.
Project Safety Professional
•Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of job sites to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
•Identify, assess, and mitigate safety hazards, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
•Develop and implement site-specific safety programs and protocols.
•Provide training to employees on safety procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency response plans, and hazard recognition.
•Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
•Assist in the development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
•Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety activities, including incident reports, inspections, and corrective actions.
•Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to create a safety-first culture on the job site.
•Respond to and manage emergency situations as needed.
•Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices. Time management
Qualifications:
•Must have a strong background in Civil Construction
•Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred but not required).
•Certification in safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
•BCSP Certification (e.g., CHST, OHST, ASP, CSP) highly desired.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management or a related role. (Construction preferred)
•Strong knowledge of L&I/OSHA standards and other safety regulations.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
•Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•Willingness to work on-site and in varying weather conditions.
