To provide design engineering and scope development for gathering facility expansions in support of business development objectives. Provide engineering support and assist with operating issues on existing rich natural gas gathering, compression, dehydration facilities and gas processing plants. Regularly evaluate gathering and compression capacity on multiple gathering mainline/lateral pipeline systems. The Pipeline Engineer/Project Manager will act as a first-line resource for Commercial personnel. Consistently communicate and coordinate midstream activities with Operations, Land, Project Management, and Environmental, Health and Safety.
- Provide technical expertise for facilities and system design solutions with cost analyses
- Successfully work with and oversee third party engineering and construction management
- Oversee the design, costs and construction of projects from concept to actual completion insuring project is completed on time and within budget
- Work directly with third-party pipelines for strategic onload and offload interconnects
- Provide design solutions and cost analysis to debottleneck and expand system capacity
- Mentor and be a SME to other employees with an environment such that the employee feels comfortable to ask questions.
- Lead internal and external meetings confidently and efficiently with a clear specific agenda and that accomplishes the agenda items.
- Knowledgeable in key commercial and marketing project aspects
- Be able to present and clearly articulate an overview of Tallgrass Midstream facilities
- Work well with other internal and external team members and Tallgrass customers
- Provide recommendations for pipeline and facilities on proposed projects.
- Provide engineering design and scope development for pipeline and facilities, including route selection, equipment selection, preliminary cost estimating, and rate determination.
- Provide engineering support for business proceedings.
- Provide engineering support for system operational problems and/or improvements.
- Review new projects to assure operational practicality.
- Provide engineering guidance in the development of best practice operational methods.
- Participate in service availability evaluations and the communication of flow directives.
- Regularly communicate with management regarding project status, goals and objectives.
- Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
- Regular communication of engineering findings to necessary teams.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Must possess understanding of how corporate policies, procedures and practices relate to Tallgrass Energy, associated business units and internal and external customers.
- Must be knowledgeable in ASME and API standards and related policies, including the ability to attend training as required.
- Familiar with DOT, EPA, OSHA, and other applicable pipeline safety and environmental, regulations.
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Tallgrass’ pipelines systems and operations.
- Applicable gas industry regulatory experience (working knowledge of federal regulatory knowledge, state regulatory knowledge, and natural gas market knowledge)
- Stakeholder management and project management
- Team development skills with change management experience
- Understanding of capital project economics.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
- Ability to work in a fast-moving competitive environment that may include handling sensitive company and customer information.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Knowledge of FERC process a plus
- Natural gas pipeline industry experience is preferred
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects at all phases of project lifecycle
