Travel: Occasional project site visits

Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the planning and execution of commercial solar projects ranging from 250 kW to 2.5 MW. You’ll coordinate across departments, manage subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to support successful project delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Coordination

- Manage day-to-day operations of assigned solar projects.

- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.

- Coordinate with internal teams (Accounting, Procurement, Estimating, Construction) to ensure smooth execution.

- Ensure all documentation, logistics, and materials align with project requirements.

Team Collaboration & Communication

- Work closely with the Senior Site Superintendent and field teams to ensure quality and safety.

- Lead weekly project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders.

- Support Project Engineers and Administrators in project documentation and reporting.

Budget & Financial Oversight

- Monitor project budgets ranging from $500K to $5M.

- Review and approve subcontractor invoices and material purchases.

- Track cost-to-complete forecasts and maintain financial health of projects.

- Utilize Sage 100 Contractor for budget tracking and reporting.

Subcontractor Management

- Assist in subcontractor selection and contract negotiation.

- Define scopes of work and ensure adherence to schedules and safety standards.

- Coordinate equipment leads times and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Construction Management, Engineering, or related field).

- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial solar or energy storage project management.

- PMP certification required.

- Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and risk management.

- Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and teams effectively.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with EPC contracts and billing practices.

Technical Skills

- Project Management Tools: Microsoft Office 365 (Planner, Teams, SharePoint), Procore, Gantt Project

- Solar Design & Engineering: AutoCAD, Helioscope, PV Syst

- Construction & Financial Software: Sage 100 Contractor, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam

- Technical Expertise: Solar inverters, panel configurations, battery storage, electrical systems, interconnection processes
