Project Manager – Environmental Professional
Location: Grande Prairie or Edmonton
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Environmental Professional to join our dynamic team in the Grande Prairie or Edmonton area. This role is perfect for someone eager to apply their skills in environmental sciences through diverse fieldwork and reporting activities.
Some out-of-town work required.
Qualifications:
•Current professional designation as a Professional Agrologist, Biologist, or in Engineering/Geoscience, with strong knowledge of provincial environmental regulations, policies, and technical guidance documents.
•Eligible for or registered with an environmental regulatory professional designation (Professional Agrologist (PAg), Professional Biologist (P.Biol), Environmental Professional (EP).
•Proven ability to manage and control multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment, prioritizing work and adapting to changing priorities.
•Working knowledge of environmental regulations and policy in Alberta, including the Alberta Water Act, Public Lands Act and the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act.
•Proven record of professional report writing and data analysis
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Review project information, project requests and prepare field information
•Analyzing and interpreting data and preparing technical reports, emails, and other project deliverables
•Communicate with management, supervisors, clients, and third-party service providers such as surveyors, engineers, archaeologists, etc.
•Review and sign off on applicable reports
•Support ongoing development and continuous improvement of report templates
•Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide updated information as it becomes available to staff
•Liaise and foster relationships with industry colleagues and regulators
•Management of project team’s time towards meeting deliverables within the project’s allotted time, budget, and schedule
Support of project team towards successful work completion including:
•Direction, guidance, coaching, training, and feedback
•Collaboration and communication
•Appropriate steps to monitor work completion and review of completed work
Presentation of project progress at weekly project review meetings, including:
•Potential risks and issues
Participation in meetings and/or presentations to the client, as appropriate
A focus on the client’s needs, with appropriate resolution, reporting or escalation of issues that may jeopardize project success
