Currently looking for a Project Engineer for the Construction division. Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting Project Manager, Superintendent and Foreman on commercial projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include and not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned:
•Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals
•Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs
•Assist in management of project permit process
•Track and inspect material deliveries
•Hiring and recommend termination of subcontracts/vendors including negotiations, sub agreements, material agreements and PO’s
•Management of Subcontractors and vendors schedule, performance, and payments, including the exercise of decision-making to reschedule and/or re-coordinate work to ensure compliance with applicable project schedule.
•Complete understanding/interpretation of contractual obligations.
•Participate in selecting contracting vendors with the project managers including drafting scope to be included in contract document.
•Issue, track and verify correct plan revisions are given to subcontractors.
•Visit and inspect project daily to ensure installation of specified materials, review installation methods against product submittals, review the construction of the projects against the intent of the drawings, and verify the flow and status of the projects against the schedule.
•Meet with jurisdictional officials including city and county staff members and inspectors during the installation and inspection of infrastructure, construction pads, landscaping, hardscaping, irrigation systems, signage, parks and amenities.
•Deliver to Project management organized construction closeout documents for review and archiving. Provide missing or requested documentation pertaining to project.
•Verify necessary safety and environmental documentation is completed, up-to-date, and accessible.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
· BS in Engineering or BS on Construction Management from an accredited university required.
· Minimum of 3 years of construction project management and estimating experience, with the majority of that time spent on commercial projects.
· Must have a vehicle, a valid driver's license
· Proficient with technologies and applications used in business and on construction sites, including MS Office and email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PROCORE, REDTEAM and scheduling software
