Company: Thermal Engineering Int'l (USA) Location: Houston, TX Job Type: Project Management Position Summary: TEi is seeking an experienced Project Engineer preferably in Houston, TX or at one of it's other offices located in La Palma, CA, Tulsa, OK or Joplin, MO.
The Project Engineer maintains overall design responsibility for specific Projects to which he/she has been assigned, and is the Primary contact for the Project Manager, Workshops, Vendors, and the Client. The design and project engineering teams primarily located in our Los Angeles area headquarters provide integrated product engineering in support of our manufacturing facility in Joplin, MO resulting in single-point responsibility for the design and manufacturing of heat transfer equipment for power and process industry related implementation. Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical/structural design in compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
- Document company design/engineering standards and complete engineering consulting activates based on technical capabilities and experience.
- Review customer specifications and identify project requirements, create a summary of the specification to be sued by the designers/drafters.
- Provide technical assistance to design engineers, drawing office and workshops.
- Preparation and issuance of requisitions for long lead items, specialty products and accessories.
- Generate job specific installation and operations manual and submit to the client.
- Submission of company drawings and documents per contract specification.
- Perform design verification to ensure that design output meets the client specification.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear Engineering or related field is required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing company in field of design and engineering.
- Design experience in heat transfer products.
- Demonstrated understanding of ASME BPVC I, VIII-1, VIII-2 and related codes, standards and guidelines in power or similar industry is highly preferred.
- Work experience involvement with a Code fabrication environment is preferred .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Must be organized and be able to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and be able to work independently.
- Proficient in Drafting is preferred: AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Programming: Excel, Visual Basic or VBA is preferred.
- Experience with Oil and Gas HX design and fabrication a plus.
- Experience with ASME BPVC Section III design and fabrication a plus.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer is a plus.
