Today we are the world’s leading provider of integrated Evac® water, waste and wastewater technologies, Cathelco® corrosion protection and marine growth prevention and HEM® freshwater systems. Our technologies address the increasing need for innovative solutions driven by the megatrends of climate change, circularity, and increasingly scarce freshwater resources. We contribute to a better environment and cleaner seas by helping our customers eliminate waste, conserve water, mitigate emissions, and lengthen the lifecycle of their vessels or buildings. Together with our 500 colleagues in 14 countries, we strive for a future with no waste.
We are now looking for a Project Engineer to join our North America team and support projects in the military segment. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer with strong project management skills and the motivation to grow into a specialist in vacuum plumbing systems.
About The Role
In this role, you will support the full project lifecycle, from proposal and design through to delivery, installation, and aftercare. You’ll collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. While knowledge of plumbing or marine systems is an advantage, it is not essential, what matters most is a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, strong project execution skills, and a willingness to learn our specialized vacuum systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop technical proposals in response to customer RFQs.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, codes, and standards.
- Determine engineering, design, and testing requirements.
- Define scope of supply, including equipment and software deliverables.
- Coordinate with accounting, purchasing, and operations to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Provide design input, perform equipment sizing and calculations.
- Prepare submittals and technical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders – particularly via email and written documentation.
- Support equipment installation, start-up, and aftercare.
- Provide technical assistance to sales teams, service centers, and customers.
Travel occasionally (<25%, domestic and international).
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Solid project engineering / project management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems; experience with plumbing or marine systems is a plus but not essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in professional email and customer interactions.
- Interest and willingness to learn vacuum plumbing systems.
- Ability to balance technical detail with customer-oriented communication.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to collaborate across functions.
Why join us?
At Evac, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your expertise in a specialized engineering field while working on projects that make a difference in sustainability and defence. You will be part of a supportive international team, with the scope to learn, grow, and contribute to cutting-edge solutions.
