Project Engineer

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Project Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects within the organization, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This position will be on a rotational basis at the mine site in Geraldton, ON.

- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.

- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly.

- Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

- Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.

- Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status.

- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

- Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.

- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope.

- Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep projects on track.

Required Experience And Skill Set

- Previous field experience executing CAPEX, OPEX, and continuous improvement projects in an operating processing facility within the mining industry.

- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD) with a strong understanding of engineering principles.

Certifications

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
